â A recent report has shown that there has been a net loss of 74 care homes in the first 6 months of 2023. (Link in comments)
đ This has led to a loss of over 1300 beds.
You would perhaps think that it is only poorly performing homes would succumb to market pressures but..
45% of those closures were homes rated as GOOD by CQC.
Of course, there can be various reasons for closures, but I am most often contacted because of concerns of the financial viability of a home.
The most common issues I find are
đ€·ââïž Providers are not completely on top of their business numbers
đ An Ostrich approach to enquiry handling and follow up
đ„± Bland online presence and visibility issues
đ No marketing strategy
â No systematic approach to collecting Reviews
đ¶ Not regularly reviewing ALL fees to ensure they are appropriate.
It really isn't đ science. Get the foundation blocks in place and you can be off to a great start.
